I have argued that autistic people are like hunter-gatherers in many respects, among others they have problems like acne with farmer and herder foods grains and dairy. hyper fixation and perfectionism are two others that are related to life in the wilderness. HGs need to fixate on animal traces and be precise when killing it during hunting, In brief, there are a host of problems living in a farmer world, like schooling and environmental sensitivity, but there are many good things too. Autistics are generally less materialistic - some studies indicate fewer property crimes - and m and more honest with a reduced cognitive myside bias as compared to neurotypicals due to an egalitarian an less clannish social structure They show deep focus and persistence due to our ancestral persistence hunt, learn lots of details as hunter-gatherers have to know more about the environment than farmers and they are often more creative in their solutions - farmers prefer more routine due to cyclicality of farming, and hunters need to be more creative in their solutions.so all in all autism has got many advantages as well and shouldn't be seen as only a disability.many autistic peoplpe consider their condition a strength and they are right to do so.

ReplyDeleteThere is a connective tissue genetic disorder called Ehlers Danlos syndrome that is said to be linked to ADHD and autism. I wanted to write it because I thought it would attract your attention and I was curious about your comment. Have a nice day!
ReplyDeleteI am definitely NOT a hunter-gatherer type by any means, but I have some of their traits. How is this so? How can I be this way as an SJ?
ReplyDeleteI have few ideas.
Delete1) Maybe you are mistyped.
2) SJs can also be autistic.
3) It is rare to meet people with pure hunter-gatherer/pastoralist/farmer heritage. It is OK to be SJ and have some hunter-gatherer traits.
